Director Spike Lee accidentally announced the winner tonight at the start of the Palme d'Or ceremony in Cannes. Normally the intention is for the main prize of the festival to be announced last. The most important prize of Cannes this year goes to Titane by director Julia Ducournau. The French filmmaker is the second woman ever to win a Palm after Jane Campion.
