Kay van der Valk, a graduate of the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht, will present his graduation film, "Rester," at the Netherlands Film Festival. This French-spoken film, set in Charleroi, explores themes of masculinity and emotional inhibitions. The film follows 23-year-old Finn as he leaves voicemails for his deceased mother, revealing his inner struggle. Originally a surfer, Van der Valk developed his passion for film by editing surf footage and later became a director and screenwriter.
