The Directors' Forum, a competition program for innovative auteur films, is relaunching as an independent event following subsidy cuts at the Netherlands Film Festival. Founders Dana Linssen and Jan Pieter Ekker, established in 2015, are organizing the event from October 1st to 5th at various locations, including Utrecht and Rotterdam. Nine films are competing for the €5,000 VEVAM Fund Prize. The jury consists of filmmakers Wiam Al-Zabari, Valerie Bisscheroux, and Vincent Boy Kars. Linssen and Ekker are considering the program's future after this edition.
