Tom Waes, a Belgian television presenter, stars in a new VRT campaign against drunk driving, titled "There Are No Excuses." In November 2024, Waes caused an accident with a blood alcohol content of 2.44, well above the legal limit of 0.5. He received a three-month driving ban, a fine, an alcohol interlock device, and was required to retake his driving test. The campaign features images of potential drunk drivers and car wrecks, including Waes's own wrecked Porsche.
