Singer Froukje makes her acting debut in the film adaptation of Tommy Wieringa's book "Joe Speedboot," directed by Sam de Jong. She plays Mieke. The story follows fourteen-year-old Fransje, who ends up in a wheelchair after an accident and can no longer speak. The film, starring Daan Buringa, Tobias Kersloot, and Chris Peters, opens in theaters on March 12. Previous film adaptations failed, but this time Wieringa has given his approval.
