Joachim Trier's film "Sentimental Value" won the Best Film award at the 38th European Film Awards in Berlin. Trier also won the Best Director and, along with Eskil Vogt, Best Screenwriter awards. Starring Stellan Skarsgård and Renate Reinsve won the Best Actor and Best Actress awards, respectively. The film also received the award for Best Original Score. Trier emphasized the importance of cinema in fostering empathy and unity.
