"Beyond Silence," directed by Marnie Blok, was the big winner at the 2026 Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards, taking home five awards, including Best Film and Best Director. The film, which was also the audience favorite, tells the story of a deaf PhD student who accuses her professor of sexual misconduct. In addition to winning awards for Best Film, Director, Screenplay, and Soundtrack, "Beyond Silence" also received international recognition with an award at the Tribeca Film Festival and a shortlist nomination for the Oscars.
