The documentary "Mariinka" by Belgian director Pieter-Jan De Pue will open the 23rd CPH:DOX Film Festival in Copenhagen from March 11-22. Nine years in development, the film follows young Ukrainians whose lives have been shaped by more than a decade of war in eastern Ukraine. "Mariinka" will have its world premiere at the opening gala on March 10 at the Royal Danish Academy of Music's Concert Hall. Shot on 16mm, the film is De Pue's second documentary and is competing for the DOX:AWARD at the festival.
