Natasja Briers won the short film competition at the 2026 Ostend Film Festival with her short film "Still Life." The film is set in a dystopian world where silence is imposed by an authoritarian regime. The protagonist, Eris, joins a resistance group that experiments with expression, while her brother, a law enforcement officer, tries to stop them. Luka Galle received a special mention for his film "The Catcher." Other nominees included Fernando Vandekeybus and Micha Volders.
