Filmmaker Pim Giel's documentary "Hoop in de Hoep" has achieved Crystal Film status after attracting 10,000 cinemagoers. The film, made by Giel with his wife and sons, explores the Ronde Hoep nature reserve near Amsterdam. This area, known for its bird population, is not open to the public but is popular with cyclists. The Crystal Film award is a recognition of the Netherlands Film Festival, supported by the Netherlands Film Fund and the Abraham Tuschinski Fund.
