Millstreet Films and Videoland are developing a spin-off of the Máxima series, focusing on Princesses Mabel and Margarita from 1999 onward, the year they met their future partners. The series will explore their involvement with the monarchy and the underlying power struggles. Claire Bender and Bram Suijker, who also starred in Máxima, will reprise their roles as Mabel and Friso. Further casting details and a broadcast date on Videoland are not yet known. The idea for the spin-off originated during the second season of Máxima.
