De César voor Beste Film gaat naar The Ties that Bind Us'
Carine Tardieu's film "The Ties That Bind Us" surprisingly won the César for Best Film at the 51st ceremony. Besides this award, the film also won in the categories of Best Adapted and Best Supporting Actress (Vimala Pons). The film, which drew 779,000 admissions in France last year, was originally an outsider among the nominees. Other winners that evening included Richard Linklater's "Nouvelle Vague," which won four César awards, and actors Léa Drucker and Laurent Lafitte.
