Een tuinier of architect: welke schrijver ben jij?'
In the film Dead Poets Society (1989), English teacher John Keating (Robin Williams) assigns his students to write a poem that they will have to recite a week later. For the introverted and deeply insecure Todd Anderson (Ethan Hawke), this doesn't mean a creative challenge, but a week of paralyzing tension. He tries, he writes, crosses out, starts over, but each attempt ends up as a wad of paper in the trash. We don't see it in the film, but we suspect sleepless nights. When the crucial moment arrives, he has to confess to Keating that he has nothing to recite.
