During the second day of Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux, Telefilm Canada and SODEC explained their financing structures for European co-producers. Francesca Accinelli of Telefilm Canada, which receives CAD 150 million annually, emphasized that animation is a particularly strong segment, with the agency investing CAD 23 million in approximately 80 animation projects since 2021. Canada remains the only non-European Eurimages member, with 34 co-productions supported since 2017. Élaine Dumont of SODEC explained that Quebec supports international partners through subsidies, tax credits of up to 25%, and bridge financing, with reciprocity between producers as a core principle for sustainable collaboration.
