Another Story, a pan-European initiative launching on March 8, focuses on rediscovering documentaries by female directors who have been ignored by film historiography. The project, developed by five partners including the HER Docs Foundation, Festival dei Popoli, and the Balkan Documentary Center, is supported by Creative Europe – MEDIA and will run for two years. Some twenty films from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries will be presented through festival programming, public discussions, and an online platform, re-circulating titles such as Cecilia Mangini's "Essere donne" and Binka Zhelyazkova's "Face and Upside Down." The emphasis is on artistic originality and formal diversity, from militant political documentaries to experimental works.
