The BFI recorded film and TV production spend of £6.8 billion for 2025, a 22% increase from 2024, with film production growing by 31% to a record £2.8 billion. The lion's share, £5.8 billion, represents overseas investment, including productions such as Emerald Fennell's *Wuthering Heights* and Sam Mendes' *The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event*, while domestic film production remained limited to £193 million. Cinema revenue rose slightly to £996.8 million, but remains 21% below pre-pandemic 2019 levels, while cinema admissions fell by 2% to 123.5 million.
