During an awards ceremony at Beeld & Geluid, the winners of the 2026 Golden Herons were announced. The main prize went to SLOOT, a nature documentary for the Amstel Gooi en Vecht Water Authority by filmmakers Arthur de Bruin and Dick Harrewijn. The other prizes went to 'Wat je nooit te zien krijgt' by Lex Schmeetz & Suzanne Braaksma (Creation Category), 'De Klimaatstrijders' by Hans de Jonge & Kuba Szutkowski (Production Category), and 'Een dagje rijden voor Albert Heijn' by Vincent van Bruchem (Impact Category), for which driver Ritesh co-wrote the script. The Green Heron went to 'Stichting Komma' by Sascha Jane & Erwin Eijpe, while the Wooden Heron went to 'Spreken Zonder Woorden' by Hidde Winter, Josephine Hooijboer & Sophie Willemse, and the Golden Egg to 'Connected' by Luca Jansen & Ruben van Loon.
