Safi Graauw has begun shooting *Onder De Paramariboom*, based on the autobiographical book by Johan Fretz, who wrote the screenplay together with Matthijs Bockting and Giancarlo Sanchez. Yannick Jozefzoon plays the lead role as Johannes, while Jenny Mijnhijmer and Hans Kesting portray his parents, with the shoot taking place largely in Suriname. The story follows a man of mixed heritage who is pursued by his mother during a performance in Paramaribo, causing his perspective on his identity to change dramatically. KeyFilm is producing the film, which September Film will release in Dutch cinemas later this year.
