The Utrecht film theater De Sien, the successor to 't Hoogt, has been operating in a container at Kanaal 30 in the Merwede district since December of last year, where the 58 seats have already welcomed nearly two thousand visitors. Director Aswin Laheij is now working on an expansion involving sawing a wall out of the container and building a second screening room on the parking lot, while architect Urbanizer drew up the circular design and set builder Schaalwerk is handling the execution. To balance the budget, a crowdfunding campaign is underway to raise €32,500, after which the prefabricated structure can be realized in six to seven weeks.
