Boomers, directed by Theu Boermans, received the Golden Film Award, presented at Café Gruter in Amsterdam to Boermans, screenwriter Marieke van der Pol, and lead actors Huub Stapel and Renée Fokker. The comedy, produced by Kaap Holland Film in co-production with Omroep MAX and released by WW Entertainment in 120 cinemas, thus reached the milestone of 100,000 tickets sold. The film centers on 65-year-old Bob, who sees his job, caregiving responsibilities, and romantic relationship collapse simultaneously, while a reunion with his childhood sweetheart Odile confronts him with a choice between the past and the future.
