Emma Branderhorst has been selected for the 51st session of La Résidence du Festival de Cannes, an intensive screenplay development program during which she will stay in Paris from March 16 to July 31, 2026. There, she is developing the screenplay for her debut feature film This Will Not End Well, which is based on a personal breakup, while collaborating with five other international filmmakers, including Harry Lighton and Saulé Bliuvaité. Branderhorst, known for the short films Under the Skin, Spotless, and My Mother and I, all three of which were selected at the Berlinale, emphasizes that the program offers her the space to be vulnerable in her work.
