Esther Roord, who gained fame as neighbor Sonja in the comedy series Kees & Co, has passed away at the age of 61 in Amsterdam, where she had recently been residing at the Sarphatihuis. Her health had deteriorated significantly in recent years, until she passed away on Wednesday. In Kees & Co, which aired on RTL from 1997 to 2006, Roord played the neighbor and best friend of Simone Kleinsma's character, where her comedic timing made her a beloved presence on Dutch television.
