Karima Si-Ali, Arts and Culture teacher at the Van Maerlantlyceum in Eindhoven, has been elected Film Teacher of the Year '25/26, an election organized by Netwerk Filmeducatie and the regional Filmhubs, with the announcement taking place on March 25, 2026, during the Movies That Matter Festival in The Hague. Si-Ali has been working at her school for more than fifteen years, where she guides students through the entire film process from script to editing, while also anchoring film education on a broader scale in Brabant schools through KunstLoc Brabant. The jury appreciated her multifaceted approach, in which film is used simultaneously as an art form, a tool, and a means for media literacy, all within just one lesson hour per week.
