*NPO Doc: Verweesd Eigendom* by director Piet de Blaauw and interviewer Frénk van der Linden will be shown on Wednesday, May 6 at 8:25 PM on NPO 2 by Omroep MAX. The documentary follows two restitution procedures via the Restitution Commission, also following researchers from the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands as they search for the descendants of approximately 3,300 orphaned objects. At the same time, the film shows how Dutch museums face moral dilemmas when claims are filed on pieces they hold on loan, because restitution extends beyond objects and touches upon identity and family history.
