Broadcasting executives will discuss a compromise on Wednesday in which KRO-NCRV, MAX, and WNL merge into a single broadcasting house, while EO, HUMAN, and VPRO are considering a similar step and BNNVARA with Omroep Zwart is seen as a logical combination. AVROTROS and PowNed previously announced a joint broadcasting house, whereby the reform is intended to yield greater cooperation and efficiency without broadcasters losing their own identity. The position of Ongehoord Nederland remains unclear because there is little interest in incorporating this broadcaster. If the parties cannot reach an agreement among themselves, Minister Rianne Letschert will have to make the final decision.
