Gouden Film voor Champagne'
The Dutch film Champagne has achieved Golden Film status. The film by director Tim Kamps is based on the personal story of comedian and lead actor Leo Alkemade and is an ode to Leo's father. In the fictional story about the final journey of a terminally ill father and son to the Champagne region, the two reserved but close men grow closer. Leo Alkemade received the Golden Film Award for Champagne in Hilversum. It is the third Golden Film awarded to a Dutch film this year for reaching 100,000 cinema visitors. The Golden Film Award is an initiative of the Netherlands Film Festival, with support from the Netherlands Film Fund and the Abraham Tuschinski Fund.
