The BFI has announced strategic plans for the expanded UK Global Screen Fund, whose annual budget is increasing from £7 million to over £18 million for the 2026-2029 period, funded by the DCMS. The fund, which launched in 2021, will henceforth invest in six areas: international distribution, adding new strands for sales agents and video game developers; international co-productions split into minority and majority tracks; international business development via three separate tracks; a new development fund for projects with international potential; and consolidated promotion under the ScreenUK umbrella. Applications for existing strands are currently open, while new funds will open in phases over the coming months.
