At DOK.fest Munich, five Dutch (co)productions are represented in both competitions and thematic sections. In the main competition, Mariinka by Pieter-Jan De Pue has been selected, a co-production with Submarine about four Ukrainian orphans in the war zone. Paikar by Dawood Hilmandi, produced by BALDR Film, competes in the Cinema of Urgency competition and follows an Afghan-Dutch filmmaker returning to his homeland. Outside of the competitions, Between Brothers by Tom Fassaert, Outliving Shakespeare by Inna Sahakyan, and Fragments of Belonging by Tatjana Božić are programmed in thematic sections of the festival.
