With the family drama **Donkey Days**, produced by Floor Onrust of Family Affair Films, Rosanne Pel made her second feature film in Germany, where she lives. The script was continuously rewritten during five shooting periods over the course of a year based on rehearsals with primarily non-professional actors and Susanne Wolff. The film, which centers on the toxic relationship between two sisters caring for their elderly mother, premiered in competition at Locarno and was selected for New Films/New Directors in New York, while it opens in Dutch cinemas on May 7. Pel always writes in English because international co-producers are involved.
