Two Flemish productions won awards at the international series festival Canneseries. The fiction series Boho, conceived by Abbie Boutkabout and directed by Olympia Allaert, won the Best Short Form Series Award with its story about three friends from Antwerp, centering on dance, family pressure, and friendship. The three-part documentary series The Deal With Iran, written and directed by Maarten Stuyck and Lennart Stuyck, took the top prize in the Documentary Series competition by unraveling a network of Iranian agents linked to a foiled bomb attack on an opposition rally near Paris in 2018. Both series were produced with support from the VAF/Mediafonds.
