Lukas Dhont returns to Cannes with *Coward*, his first feature film since *Close* from 2022, which enters competition on May 21. The film is set during the First World War and follows soldier Pierre, who meets Francis at the front while the latter is organizing a theatrical performance to cheer up his comrades. Emmanuel Macchia makes his film debut alongside Valentin Campagne. Mubi acquired the distribution rights for several countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia, while Lumière handles Benelux distribution and Diaphana Distribution serves the French market.
