At the Marché du Film in Cannes, five German-speaking directors — İlker Çatak, Kurdwin Ayub, Nora Fingscheidt, Helene Hegemann, and Tom Tykwer — launched DOGMA 25 GERMANY, a German branch of the movement founded last year in Cannes by Danish filmmakers. Each of them is making a feature film according to ten creative rules, in which scripts are written by hand, at least half of each film must be dialogue-free, and crew size remains limited to ten people behind the camera. TrustNordisk handles international sales, while X Filme Creative Pool and Zentropa Germany structure the co-production, with X Verleih as distributor in German-speaking regions and ZDF and ARTE as expected broadcasting partners.
