During a panel at the Cannes Film Festival, Cate Blanchett and the Hubert Bals Fund announced the second round of the Displacement Film Fund, in which Mohammed Amer, Annemarie Jacir, Akuol de Mabior, Bao Nguyen, and Rithy Panh have been selected as filmmakers who will each receive a production grant of €100,000. Their short films will have their world premiere at IFFR 2027, which takes place from January 28 to February 7. The five films from the 2025 pilot edition, including Rotation and The Missing Picture maker Panh's previous work, will be screened at the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Film Forum in New York, making them eligible for Academy Award nominations.
