On May 28, 2026, Mokum Film is organizing a free evening at Rialto de Pijp in memory of Frans van de Staak, who passed away twenty-five years ago, featuring screenings of the films *De directeur* (1978) and *De onvoltooide tulp* (1980). *De onvoltooide tulp*, Van de Staak's first feature film, consists of 28 scenes in which language plays a central role, as elevated dialogue contrasts with banal imagery—a hallmark of his broader oeuvre, in which characters are trapped in a verbal universe that separates them rather than connects them. Alongside the screenings, the fourth DVD from the Frans van de Staak Collection and the publication *The Word as Archipelago* will be presented.
