Amir Zaza (1995) is a Dutch-Syrian screenwriter and director. He graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2022 with It Will Rain, a film about two Syrian brothers who are unjustly imprisoned in a terrible Syrian prison. He wrote Close Your Eyes Hind (2025), the true story of Hind Rajab, the five-year-old girl who was murdered by Israeli soldiers in Gaza. He received a Golden Calf for it. For this film, he was also nominated for the 2025 Silver Curl Award in the Short Film category. 'I do not choose the subjects of my films, they choose me.'
