CASTING CALL: VROUW 25-35 jaar (korte experimentele film)

For a project by Kristel Meriam we are making a poetic, introspective short film in the spirit of the Nouvelle Vague and are looking for an actress who can bring the role of 'Merie' to life. The film will be shot in guerrilla style, which means that spontaneity, creative freedom and a raw, intimate atmosphere are central.

- The Movie.
Merie is a sensitive, creative woman struggling to find her place in the world after cancer. It will be filled with raw and intimate reflections on self-acceptance, beauty and the confrontation with mortality. Through a kaleidoscope of moments we follow Merie's daily existence in a city that never stands still, while her inner world sometimes feels almost surreal. From quiet morning rituals to uninhibited nights on the dance floor, and from loneliness to absurd/confrontational/revealing (self)observations.

- About the Role.
Merie's story is one of introspection, raw vulnerability and unexpected moments of freedom. You take the viewer through her lonely observations, her struggles with beauty ideals and her confrontation with reality. We are looking for someone who can find the balance between softness, loss, happiness and moments of hope.

Who are we looking for?

- An actress (25-35 years old) with bald, buzz cut or short hair. (or you are willing to shave it off ;) in this case we make it part of the film)
- Improvisation 'Talent'
- You can play both quiet, subtle emotions and powerful moments of freedom and alienation
- You are comfortable with physical scenes, such as dance or expressing emotions non-verbally.
