A child actor (approx. 10 years old) who can sing is wanted for a short 19th century costume drama musical!

For a short 19th century costume drama musical film we are looking for a child actor with singing skills. Has it always been your dream to participate in a musical film? This is your chance!

Practical information: The recording will take place on April 25, 28 and May 2, 9 and 12 (could be moved in consultation). It will be two half days of shooting within these days. Furthermore, this is a graduation project so the budget is tight. A tasty and healthy lunch will be provided on set. Travel expenses will be reimbursed!

The role involves playing the young version of the lead actor. Therefore, we are looking for a child actor of about 10 years old with dark hair, light eyes and light skin.

The Story

The film tells the story of Henry, the son of a tailor, who grows up in his father's colorful sewing attic. His father is a true craftsman, known for his beautiful creations full of color and texture. When Henry's father gets the chance to open his own shop in a nearby village, they grab it with both hands.
However, upon arrival, the village is drab and dull, and his father's colorful clothes don't sell at all. Out of necessity, they adapt: the sparkling designs make way for everyday, boring clothing.

Years later, Henry yearns for the inspiration and freedom he felt as a child in his father’s attic. When a traveling troupe of street performers visits the village, it ignites a burning dream in him. Determined, Henry decides to do everything he can to transform the drab village into a colorful paradise – a place where everyone can be themselves and creativity can flourish.

Why do we want to make this film?

With this film we show that dreams don't have to remain dreams, but can also become reality. We address important themes such as being yourself, queer representation, breaking gender roles, deviating from the norm and continuing to believe in yourself and your dreams.

The film is meant to inspire: to hold on to your dreams, despite setbacks or people who say something is not possible. It is a call to persevere and fight for what you want to achieve. In addition, we hope that this film encourages (young) people to be themselves, regardless of what the outside world thinks.
