SYNOPSIS
Loeke, a young Indonesian man, washes up on a deserted beach. Letters swirl around him in the waves. As he treks through a threatening jungle, he meets a wounded Dutch soldier. Together they must flee the threat of war and their past. Their journey unfolds a story about loss, identity and the haunting legacy of a war that must never be spoken about.

LOEKE (22-27 years) – Dutch-Indonesian

A boy with a calm, observant appearance. Loeke is the main character of the story: he washes up on an unknown beach, with only a name, a photo and a backpack full of letters. In search of answers about his family's past in Indonesia, he wanders through jungle, villages and memories. This role is physical, cinematic and largely without spoken text - the emotion is in your gaze, your posture, your movement.

We are looking for someone with an Indonesian background (or clear connection), who is comfortable with introspective scenes and a physical narrative.

STEFAN (22-27 years) – Dutch, soldier

Stefan is a young Dutch soldier, stationed in Indonesia during the War of Independence. In the film he is a key character: not as a stereotype, but as a human being. Stefan is both a perpetrator and a doubter. His meeting with Loeke, somewhere deep in the jungle, is short and loaded. The role requires nuance, vulnerability and a certain calm. Dialogue is limited, but intense.

MALE EXTRAS (22-27 years)

We are looking for a group of boys to play young soldiers. Only a few lines of text per person – your presence and charisma are more important than experience. You will play scenes where physical presence and group dynamics are central. We are looking for boys who are comfortable in a role that can be quiet and tense, but also means a lot without explanation.

No experience necessary – we welcome both beginners and experienced players.
