For my graduation project I am making a short film about propaganda strategies during the colonial period in the Dutch East Indies. The film investigates how different art forms were used as instruments to manipulate collective memory and to suppress the memory of centuries of exploitation.
The film translates as an essay film. Includes scenes filmed in the Rijksmuseum, interview segments, theater setting, open grass fields and portraits in group setting.
The project is part of my graduation project at the Willem de Kooning Academy and will be presented in a professional exhibition space during the final exhibition.
