Acteurs gezocht short film bewustwording alcoholgebruik

In collaboration with Jellinek and Stichting Jeugd en Alcohol we are making a short film about the awareness of alcohol use. This film will be shown on media channels of the above clients and possible screenings of the film for young people.

Introduction
In a society where alcohol consumption is linked to social activities, many young people experience constant pressure to participate. Parties, going out and even holidays do not seem complete without alcohol. Those who choose not to drink are often labelled as boring or unsociable. This normalisation of alcohol consumption affects their social environment and often hinders their freedom to make conscious choices. With this film project we want to expose this problem and make it a topic of discussion. By means of a unique split-screen technique, the film shows two parallel storylines: one in which the main character chooses to drink alcohol, and one in which he chooses not to. In this way, the viewers are confronted with the direct consequences of both choices, both socially and personally.

Logline
In a world where peer pressure and social expectations rule everything, a young man named Mark is confronted with the power of choice. During an evening of temptation and peer pressure, a revealing story unfolds about the impact of alcohol on relationships and self-discovery.

The theme
“In a world full of pressure and expectations, choosing yourself may be the hardest path, but it ultimately leads to freedom and a more conscious life.”

Synopsis
One evening, Mark arrives confidently at a party in a bar. As he greets his friends, he is offered a beer. One moment of hesitation and the story splits. From that point on, we follow two versions of the same evening, side by side. On the one hand, we see how Mark refuses the drink. He stays sober, laughs at the pressure, and joins in the party in his own way. At the same time, in the other version, we see how he gives in, knocks back the beer, and gets carried away by the intoxication of the evening. The two realities move in sync. One Mark dances happily with his friends and leaves the party on time, while the other gets caught up in a chaotic night. In the morning, one Mark is fresh on his bike to a meeting with Stefanie, the other stumbles out of bed, too late, with a hangover. The line between the two worlds remains visible when Stefanie and Mark go to a second party together. In the sober world, Mark encourages her to be herself; their bond grows stronger. In the other, Stefanie is left alone, doubts grow, the pressure to join in increases. While one version of her finds support, the other is dragged into the same trap as Mark before.

We are looking for two actors, one of which is a male lead named Mark. The other role that still needs to be filled is the role of Stefanie, Mark's girlfriend.

Mark
Mark is a 22-year-old boy with an athletic appearance. He is a university student and is working on his bachelor's degree in psychology. Mark still lives with his parents and has a good relationship with them, although he sometimes feels that they have expectations of him that he finds difficult to meet. Mark is a social boy who often visits parties. Mark is not always sure of his choices, especially when it comes to alcohol. He wants to be socially accepted as well as guard his own boundaries. Mark has a wait-and-see attitude and is sensitive to peer pressure. He is becoming increasingly aware of the influence this pressure has on his choices. He longs for a balance between having fun with friends and staying true to his own choices.

Stefanie
Description
Stefanie is a 21-year-old young woman with a friendly appearance. She comes across as self-assured, but this self-assurance is put to the test in situations of social pressure. Although she initially succeeds in making her own choices, it later turns out that she is sometimes influenced by the expectations of others. Stefanie enjoys social occasions and likes to go out with friends.

Periode
De eerste scenes binden plaats in een cafe. Deze worden gefilmd op zondag 29 juni, maandag 30 juni en dinsdag 1 juli. De rest van de overige scenes vinden ergens deze week of periode ook plaats. We zijn dan ook op zoek naar flexibele acteurs.

Je krijgt de kans om ervaring op te doen op een goed georganiseerde set, samen te werken met gedreven makers, en je ontvangt het eindresultaat in hoge kwaliteit voor gebruik in je showreel. Ook denken we graag mee over reiskostenvergoeding indien nodig, en wie weet ontstaat er een leuke samenwerking voor toekomstige projecten.

De catering wordt volledig verzorgd over de draaidagen.
