Melek Bahçe (b. 1999) is a filmmaker, screenwriter, and visual artist from Cyprus, currently based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. With a background in directing, writing, and acting, she holds a BA in Film Directing and Writing from the Warsaw Film School and an MA in Lens-Based Media from the Piet Zwart Institute.

Her work spans fiction, documentary, and experimental formats, often exploring emotional depth through surreal motifs, poetic visuals, and a strong sense of rhythm and tone. Melek is interested in crafting immersive, character-driven stories, reflecting deep understanding of human emotions, inviting audiences on immersive journeys through her cinematic creations. She is interested in creating audio-visual experiences that create a unique language with surreal themes and visual motifs that sometimes blend the personal with the mythical, the everyday with the uncanny.

Lately, her artistic research has shifted toward miniature set building and puppetry, using these tactile forms to explore anthropological and metaphysical themes. Whether working with moving image or narrative text, Melek approaches storytelling as a form of world-building — playful, precise, and emotionally resonant.
