For the new production of “Can We Have One More Summer” (directed by Natasha do Amaral Penninx, Luanna do Amaral Penninx & Jente Keizer) we are looking for an enthusiastic cast!

The film will be shot in and around Amsterdam, dates are not yet known.

Short synopsis:
Jules, Amelia, Matt, and Sam are ready for a fantastic summer, chilling together in their hangout café and doing nothing. This dream is interrupted by an unpleasant announcement: the café is in danger of closing before the end of the summer. They don't want to lose the memories and friendship they've formed there. So, together, they devise a plan to save the café. They revive an old element of the café: live music. Jules on drums, Amelia on piano, Matt singing, and Sam playing guitar. Sunburn, the band, is formed. The only thing missing is a bassist. Therefore, Chris, an unknown to the group, joins the band as bassist. The mystery of an anonymous songwriter writing verses on bathroom doors also keeps the group busy.
This summer is nothing they expected; they're fighting for what they want. They'll do anything to keep the café open. But is it enough?

- Jules: Female, 18-23 years old, the group's drummer and initiator. She's creative and passionate about both the café and her friends, whom she cares deeply about. She also calls her brother her friend. She's the group's mother, the one who unites them. She has a sense of responsibility and wants to save the café. She always thinks in terms of possibilities and solutions. That's why she came up with the idea to start a band. She's incredibly sociable. Her voice-overs tell of her inner world and the nostalgia she feels.
IMPORTANT: You must be able to play the drums a little.
Amelia: Female, 18-23 years old, the group's pianist and the most sensitive. Amelia is deeply introverted and reflective about herself and her actions, with an emotional undercurrent. She is therefore the most introspective of the group. She struggles with her feelings for Sam and the impact those feelings could have on the group if she were to stop fighting them. She is incredibly loyal and caring. She is afraid of losing things and therefore avoids major changes. She has an eye for beauty and poetry. Her voiceovers reveal her inner struggles and romantic doubts.
IMPORTANT: You must be able to play the piano a little.
Sam: Male, 18-23 years old, the guitarist and Jules' brother. He's the jokester of the group, sociable, and slightly flirtatious. Sam is a deeper character than you might initially think; he has multiple layers. He's madly in love with Amelia and, like Amelia, struggles with those feelings. He's vulnerable and confides in Chris about his secrets and tells him about them. He finds it difficult to cope with Amelia's questionable behavior. Like his sister, he also plays a unifying role in the group. Sam is also hiding something from the whole group, a big secret that no one can know about. Sam uses his voiceovers to express his feelings for Amelia in moments when he feels vulnerable.

- Chris: Male, 18-23 years old, the band's bassist and the newcomer. Chris is an enthusiastic, talented guy, and also a bit mysterious. He's initially looked upon with hatred, especially by Matt. Chris acts as a brother extra to Sam and helps him with his feelings. He's a helpful person. Chris has a violent background that he wants to leave behind. He wants to prove that he can change and that he has changed. He protects the people around him and will always do so, even if it's sometimes violent. Chris brings dynamism and tension to the group. His voiceover explains why he moved and why he is the way he is. The relationship between him and Matt evolves from conflict to a potential genuine connection he's never experienced before. Chris's dialogue is like voiceovers because of his sincerity.

Periode
De periode waarin we willen opnemen is nog niet bekend. We willen zo snel mogelijk beginnen. Er zijn een aantal zaken in de productie die afgehandeld moeten worden, voordat we volledig van start gaan. Dit zal in de aankomende weken plaatsvinden en daarna wordt de data bekend gemaakt voor de opnames.
