DAMIAN is a gripping short film about a young man trying to navigate family, loyalty, and the temptations of the streets. Raised in a tough Rotterdam neighborhood, Damian becomes increasingly entangled in a world of crime, where power and respect come at a high price. While trying to protect his mother and brother, he faces the consequences of his choices and the moral boundaries he crosses.
The film tells a raw yet human story about identity, guilt and the search for redemption in an environment where good and evil often intertwine.

Set in South Rotterdam, DAMIAN is told in a realistic, character-driven style—with an emphasis on silence, suspense, and emotional authenticity. It's a story about loyalty, identity, and the cost of survival.

For DAMIAN, we are looking for a student producer (or aspiring producer) who wants to work with us to take this project to a professional level.
Someone with a passion for film and story, who understands the importance of collaboration and organization in creating a strong, character-driven short film.
We are looking for someone who:
Has an affinity with social-realistic or dramatic films.
Want to gain experience in producing a short film project.
Happy to think along about planning, budget, funds and festival strategy.
Proactive and a strong communicator, who enjoys working in a small, passionate team.
The project will be made as an entrance film for the film academy and will also be submitted to (inter)national film festivals.
A great opportunity to gain experience, build credits and be part of an ambitious and authentic film project.

Functie eisen / profiel
Must-have skills / ervaring:
Affiniteit met film, bij voorkeur sociaal-realistische of karaktergedreven verhalen.
Ervaring met of interesse in filmproductie, inclusief preproductie, planning en draaiboekbeheer.
Organisatorisch sterk en goed in timemanagement.
Communicatief vaardig, kan goed samenwerken met regisseur, crew en cast.
Proactief, probleemoplossend en hands-on ingesteld.

Nice-to-have:
Basiskennis van budgettering en fondsenaanvragen.
Ervaring met festivalinzendingen en distributieplanning.
Enthousiasme voor creatieve input en meedenken over productie-oplossingen.

Overig:
Beschikbaar van oktober 2025 tot februari 2026 (preproductie, productie en postproductie).
Bereid om flexibel te zijn in werktijden tijdens draaiperioden.
Geïnteresseerd in het bouwen van een portfolio / ervaring opdoen voor filmacademie of toekomstige projecten.
