Jonge actrices gezocht voor studentenfilm ‘Petit four'

"Petit Four" is a coming-of-age psychological drama with satirical and absurdist undertones. The film follows Nathalie, who, during her perfectly organized eighteenth birthday party, becomes increasingly entangled in the fear of not being good enough, until the facade breaks down and proves to be exactly what she needed to find herself again.

The short film explores the pressure to be perfect and how it affects young girls. Only when they let go of that pressure do they find freedom and self-acceptance. The style is inspired by the 1950s and 1960s.

We're looking for actors to play Nathalie's friends. Outwardly, they appear cheerful, sweet, and sociable, but behind their smiles lies judgment: their conversations are full of subtle jabs and comparisons about clothes, appearance, and grades… everything is competitive. The girls are well-groomed, made up, and wear neat pastel dresses. They grew up in respectable families where appearance and status are important, and they often move and act in perfect harmony. Meanwhile, they subtly judge each other without saying it out loud.

The toughest and slightly malicious one of the group. She's quicker to make snide and mean remarks, and we can hear the truth in her undertones.

Julia (17 years old):
She pays even more attention to the little details than the others. She notices every little mistake and comments on them without any compassion.

Emma (17 years old):
She stands out from the rest with her caring and sweet nature. Compared to the others, Emma is the most human and authentic of the group.

Lisa (18 years old):
She stands out from the rest because of her struggle with food. She demonstrates this in her actions at Nathalie's birthday party.
