Hi everyone, my name is Jasper. I go by the pseudonym "Jespar." I'm an artist and media creator active on TikTok (https://www.tiktok.com/@jespar.nl?lang=nl-NL) and Instagram. I'm dedicated to supporting neurodivergent people.

It's 2026, and the numbers don't lie: over 100,000 people in the Netherlands are currently on a waiting list for mental health care. That's a city full of people who are "on hold."
I find that incredibly difficult because I was one of them. I know what it's like to wait for a letter, an intake interview, or a diagnosis that finally explains why your mind is such a mess. In that "no man's land," you're often just a file number to the system. A code. In 2024, I was diagnosed with ADHD, and that was a relief.

For my new online series, I'm looking for someone to share their story on camera for a pilot video. I'd like to create a pilot video with one person to explore how the format comes to life, with the goal of developing it into a multi-part series.

The format:
I'm not coming to your home as a caregiver, but as someone with lived experience. I'd love to hear your story about the chaos of waiting and the reason for your registration. I'll ask you questions, and based on our conversation, I'll translate your feelings into a song I've written. I'll write and produce a song that gives you the recognition that healthcare currently fails to provide. No, not an awkward, cringe-inducing serenade, but a song that helps as a bridge, especially for you.
If you feel like you're waiting for an identity, I want to hear your story.

The goal of this series is to give people waiting for mental health care a voice and a listening ear. By sharing personal stories on social media, we demonstrate the impact and severity of long waits (and the risks this poses for victims, including suicidal thoughts). We don't share numbers, but real lives. This way, we aim to offer recognition to others in similar situations AND raise awareness in The Hague that things simply can't continue this way.
