"Dance Without Shadow" is a 20-minute psychological drama film. It follows Sophia, a twenty-year-old dance student who finds herself increasingly alienated from the world around her. As the pressure of a major performance mounts, she loses herself in a reality that seems increasingly unreal. She finds support in Lucas, the only person who seems to truly understand her.

"Self-reliance begins when you dare to admit that you can't always do it alone, and you don't always have to." With this film, filmmaker Denzel Balois aims to make the invisible problem of "emotional loneliness" visible and invite viewers to explore their own role in strengthening connection. The story is inspired by the many stories of the Bij Mij Thuis Foundation and is also being created in collaboration.

We're looking for someone to play Sophia's mother. She's a single mother who, beneath her smile for her daughter, carries a great deal of heartbreak and sadness. She does her best to maintain a pleasant atmosphere at home, but in doing so, she avoids crucial topics that jeopardize her and Sophia's relationship.
It is a dynamic role with a lot of subtlety, but where emotions certainly reach a peak.

Deze film zal worden ingezonden bij diverse filmfestivals en gebruikt worden als educatief middel om het belang van verbinding aan het licht te brengen.
