Shadow is a short psychological thriller that takes the viewer into an oppressive world where reality and paranoia slowly begin to blur.

Synopsis
After a violent home invasion, writer Liv is plagued by insomnia, nightmares, and hallucinations that blur the lines between dreams and reality. What initially seems like a normal way to process her trauma turns into doubt about what is real. She no longer feels safe anywhere, not even in her own head. While her boyfriend Max lovingly supports her and gives her pills to help her sleep, Liv becomes increasingly entangled in fear and mistrust, and nothing is as it seems.
When Liv discovers that several women have been victims of similar burglaries, something catches her eye: the pills. What initially seems like a coincidence turns into a disturbing pattern. Small signals in her own environment take on new meaning, and her world slowly begins to shift. She realizes that she might be trusting the wrong person.
When Liv confronts the situation and manages to free herself, a revelation follows that puts everything in a new light. Determined to no longer be a victim, she processes her trauma through words. By telling her own story in a book, Liv regains her strength and takes back control of her own life.
About the film
With "Shadow," we aim to breathe new life into the Dutch horror and thriller genre. The film combines the strong buildup of tension and cinematographic style often found in American productions. This is combined with a Dutch setting, something rarely done in the Netherlands.

Instead of relying on cheap jump scares, we focus on psychological tension and an oppressive atmosphere that slowly gets under the viewer's skin. Through strong acting and a compelling story, we aim to create an intense viewing experience that lingers long after the film is over.

The film contains various kinds of special scenes, including exciting and mysterious moments, romantic scenes and fight scenes.

Style
In the film, we use warm and cold light to create tension and an oppressive atmosphere. Warm light will represent moments of trust and tranquility, while cold light is used to enhance a menacing and mysterious atmosphere.

We are looking for crew members for the following positions:

- Sound person (Boom operator/Sound recordist)
- Gaffer
- first assistant

Post production:
- Sound designer
- Colorist


It's a plus if you have your own equipment. If you don't, but do have knowledge and/or experience with lighting, sound, or set design, we definitely invite you to apply as well.


We are looking for people who would like to contribute to the creative and technical execution of the film and who want to work with us to achieve the most professional possible end result.

Periode
De draaidagen staan gepland op 22, 23 en 24, 30 april en 1 mei. Voor deze datums zullen er nog meetings plaatsvinden. Er zijn twee locaties die beide in Hilversum zijn.

Wat bieden wij?
Omdat het een studentenproductie is, is er geen groot budget. Het beschikbare budget wordt geïnvesteerd in het professioneel neerzetten van de film, met veel aandacht voor Production design, cinematografie, props en stunt coördinator zodat de film een zo hoog mogelijke productiekwaliteit krijgt.

Onkosten kunnen daarom in overleg worden vergoed en tijdens de draaidagen wordt er uiteraard voor catering gezorgd.
