The Assistant is a short psychological horror film about a fraudulent psychic who secretly relies on an earpiece connected to an unseen assistant during her séances. When a young client arrives hoping to contact her deceased grandmother, the psychic’s carefully controlled performance begins to unravel as the assistant suddenly starts giving the wrong information.
After the séance ends, the psychic realizes the voice in her ear may no longer be coming from the person she expected. What began as a staged act slowly turns into something far more unsettling, as the psychic is forced to confront the possibility that something real has answered her call.
