Afstudeerfilm "Ik had al een Familie"

A 24-year-old student living away from home goes away for a weekend with her blended family hoping to strengthen their family bond, but they are confronted with the underlying truth. They are trying to strengthen something that never was.
In this family drama, the themes of divorce and blended families take center stage. For me, this is a personal subject that I have always struggled with. I feel there is a taboo surrounding divorce, even though as a child I couldn't do anything about it. I feel that too little is said and made about it.
A major inspiration for this film is Sentimental Value and Marriage Story. The acting style of Sentimental Value is what I want to emulate with this project and what I want to work hard for with the actors. Therefore, it is very important that we make time to rehearse beforehand!

STAN (16 years old), stepbrother of Femke
A headstrong teenager, big mouth, but his heart is in the right place.
He is struggling with the new family but doesn't show it too much since he still lives at home. Jens is going through puberty and has a knack for saying the wrong things at the wrong time, seizing every opportunity he gets to offer commentary. He sees Femke more as a cousin than as a (step)sister. Still, he does have some admiration for how she views things and is curious to learn more from her.

SASKIA (+/- 40/45) mother of Femke
Saskia is happy in love again now that she has found Leon. They might even have plans to start a family. She tries to make this new family as normal as possible and create the same sense of family she had with her ex-husband. Saskia is a sweet, gentle woman, but she does not dare to confront the truth.

LEON (+/- 50), stepfather of Femke
Leon is a down-to-earth, hard-working man. He feels he has thoroughly earned this relaxing weekend. He knows that Saskia values a sense of family immensely, so he tries his best to foster this. Leon struggles to find harmony because he was single again for a few years before Saskia. He has the children's best interests at heart, but can be a bit too direct at times.

Afgelopen jaren hebben wij veel filmprojecten gemaakt. Studentenfilms, commercials, 48-hour projecten, ect. Wij bieden een professionele werkervaring en een prachtige ervaring. Reiskosten en catering worden verzorgd en ruimte om te blijven slapen op het prachtige vakantiepark waar we gaan filmen.
