Gezocht: MUA(H) voor een sciencefiction film!

My name is Cris Wassenaar, a third-year student at the St. Joost School of Art & Design. I am looking for an enthusiastic MUA(H) who wants to help bring the Androids to life in the science fiction film 'GODS'!

With this film, we would like to tell a story about rediscovering the power of togetherness in a world where everyone seems more focused on themselves.

Synopsis:
'GODS' is set in the 30th century, in which humanity has left Earth due to a looming black hole. The only beings remaining are humanoid, man-worshipping Androids.

Raba and Bee are part of the last remaining Androids on Earth; in a race against time, they must reach an extraction point. When they are forced to traverse a gigantic field filled with discarded Androids along the way, Raba's blind love for her human creators comes into direct conflict with a bitter reality.

Omschrijving
Visually, we are looking for an expressive, distinctive style similar to the work of Tim Burton and Guillermo Del Toro. In terms of look, we want the Androids to appear uncanny/creepy at first glance, but the longer we look at them, the more human, relatable, and even pitiful they appear. Upon contact, I would be happy to share some inspirational images as a basis for the unique look I hope to design together.

De draaidagen zijn op 7 en 8 mei in Valkenburg, Zuid-Limburg.

Functie eisen / profiel
Met Make-Up (en bij evt. specialisatie haarstyling) willen we Raba en Bee er uitgeput uit laten zien, alsof ze voor maandenlang buiten leven (denk bleke huid en wallen onder de ogen). Ook willen we werken met de afgedankte Androids, personages die al zo lang op dezelfde plek stilliggen, dat de natuur ze volledig heeft overgenomen. Aardevervuiling, kapotte huid en vegetatie speelt een grote rol in de realisatie van dit effect. Ten slotte willen we waar het kan Practical Make-Up combineren met Visuele Effecten, om het idee van deze afgedankte Androids zo realistisch en overtuigend mogelijk te maken. Hiervoor zullen we blue screen patches moeten gaan toevoegen in het ontwerp.

Wat bieden wij?
We bieden een crew die bestaat uit zowel film studenten in opleiding als professionals. Daarnaast bieden we catering en een overnachting tussen de draaidagen. Ook kunnen we kijken naar wat er mogelijk is voor zowel een reiskostenvergoeding als een vergoeding voor de benodigde materialen. Natuurlijk bieden we de kans om mee te werken aan een bijzonder project!
